| 10/6/09 - Executives from Stelera Broadband, a privately-held company specializing in wireless broadband Internet services, recently announced the company's expansion of coverage to several Texas communities, including Seminole, Snyder, Sweetwater, Andrews, Stanton, Lamesa, Brownfield and Colorado City. Lovington, New Mexico, will receive services as well.
Using Internet High Speed Access (iHSPA) technology and a wireless router, Stelera provides Internet access to multiple computers in a single location without the use of phone lines, a cable connection or public Wi-Fi hot spots.
"We remain dedicated to providing the most sophisticated technologies available to underserved rural markets, such as West Texas and East New Mexico," said Ed Evans, CEO of Stelera Wireless. "Our wireless network is purely focused on broadband Internet access, which makes our service simple, reliable and affordable."
Stelera's wireless network works outside the city limits, extending several miles from each cell site and offering high-speed Internet service to many rural homes and businesses located outside of town.
Stelera Broadband is committed to providing rural America with the latest and most advanced technology that provides the fastest broadband services available. Stelera currently serves 33 cities in Texas, Colorado and New Mexico with plans to expand its service to 55 cities by the end of 2009.
Stelera's Internet High Speed Access (iHSPA) technology offers download speeds that are up to ten times faster than Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) speeds. Stelera was the first company in the nation to introduce iHSPA to consumers in May 2009.
Stelera's wireless router allows multiple computers to connect throughout the home or office simultaneously. No professional installation is needed. Equipment is leased for $9.95 per month or may be purchased. Services are marketed and sold by local businesses, and rates start at $39.95 per month.
