STSN To Deliver Secure Broadband at 70 La Quinta Inn & Suites Properties

STSN's installation of the La Quinta corporate- owned Inn & Suites properties will begin in early January 2004 with the deployment slated for completion by the end of the first quarter of 2004. STSN will be installing 100 percent of the guest rooms with wired access, and installing Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b) access in common areas of the properties, which La Quinta will offer free to its guests.

STSN will also provide connectivity (wired and Wi-Fi) in conference and meeting rooms that will be made available to visiting companies and groups on a for-fee basis. Franchisees of the La Quinta Inn & Suites brand will be expected to install broadband services as a brand standard by June 2004. Additionally, STSN will provide broadband service to selected La Quinta Inn properties as requested.

    T-Mobile USA, Inc. and iPass Inc. announced a landmark distribution agreement that will enable corporations to access the T-Mobile HotSpot network through the iPass virtual network. Now, enterprise IT managers and CIOs can provide their mobile workers with a seamless experience to connect to the T-Mobile HotSpot network through the iPassConnect service interface. This agreement stands to accelerate the adoption of enterprise Wi-Fi usage by combining the largest commercial Wi-Fi service in North America with the world's largest virtual network.

  • MCI Expands Remote Access Solution to Include International Hotspots and PDA Access

    MCI announced it has expanded its remote access services to provide traveling and remote workers with additional high-speed wireless access points and the ability to access information from a personal digital assistant (PDA) through a roaming agreement with Boingo Wireless. With the addition of more than 2,000 global wireless hot spot access points to its existing 600 U.S. Wi-Fi locations, MCI is able to provide customers with the tools necessary to conduct business from almost anywhere in the world.
