GRIC
Adds Thousands of European Wi-Fi Access Locations in Six
Countries

GRIC Communications, Inc. announced it has signed agreements with
three major Wi-Fi service providers, immediately adding more than
2,200 live Wi-Fi access locations in five European countries and
South Africa to the GRIC TierOne Network. The agreements mean that
GRIC users be able to use high-speed Wi-Fi connections to increase
their productivity by connecting to their corporate networks and
working as easily and conveniently as if they were in their own
offices.
Collectively, the agreements with The Cloud, Monzoon Networks and
PicoPoint add Wi-Fi access locations in the UK, Germany,
Switzerland, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and South Africa -- many
in places important to business travelers such as airports, railway
stations, hotels and convention centers. All three networks have
announced plans to expand over the next 12 months, adding as many as
6,000 additional locations.
These new Wi-Fi access locations will be added to the GRIC
TierOne Network, which already has more than 3,000 active Wi-Fi and
Ethernet access locations in 20 countries, in addition to more than
35,000 dial-up locations in 150 countries. GRIC has signed
agreements with 48 Wi-Fi service providers in 32 countries, and is
rapidly bringing additional Wi-Fi access locations on-line around
the globe.
"Our relationships with The Cloud, Monzoon Networks and PicoPoint
adds real value for GRIC MobileOffice enterprise customers, who will
be able to connect securely to their corporate networks from key
business locations throughout Europe by simply using the GRIC client
and a Wi-Fi enabled laptop or other device," said Bharat Dave,
President and Chief Executive Officer of GRIC Communications. "Our
agreement with these three leading Wi-Fi service providers is a
major step in making Wi-Fi access as ubiquitous as dial-up access
for mobile workers."

Europe Grows Wi-Fi Faster Than North America, Says
Insight Research |
| |
Established wireline and wireless network providers will be
among the big beneficiaries of the $163 billion to be spent
worldwide over the next five years on Wi-Fi services and
equipment, according to a new market research study from
Insight Research Corporation. Wi-Fi is a technology that
combines Ethernet and wireless communications, making it
possible for computers and other electronic gear to send and
receive high-speed data in a local area network without a
wired connection.
Insight Research's analysis of the WiFi industry, Wi-Fi in
North America and Europe: Telecommunications' Future
2003-2008, suggests that wireless LAN technology--increasingly
popping up in public spaces such as airports and cafes, in
private residences, and in businesses--will grow faster in
Europe than North America. Worldwide WiFi revenues are
expected to grow from $7 billion in 2003 to over $44 billion
by 2008, at a compounded annual rate of 44 percent.
