FBI's Cyber Security Program to Examine Wireless LAN Security

The Mansfield Group, LLC announced that company founder and chief security officer, Brian Mansfield will speak at the upcoming San Francisco InfraGard Conference on February 19, 2004 at the Symantec corporate headquarters in Cupertino, California. InfraGard is the FBI's cyber security outreach program, which is a partnership between private industry and the U.S. government. The San Francisco InfraGard chapter is one of the largest and most active of the FBI's IntrafGard chapters.

Beginning next month in Houston, Texas, and in Orlando, Florida, the Mansfield Group will launch their 2004 Featured Security Providers for the upcoming workshop series. The 2004 Featured Security Providers include: Vernier Networks, Fortress Technologies, Legra Systems, Funk Software, Newbury Networks, WildPackets, AirMagnet, and Cisco Systems.

APS 4.1 enables the quick and simple delivery of services within a Wi-Fi hotspot, in a contextual manner, according to parameters such as date and time. The new version of APS 4.1 enables the definition of time slots so information can be delivered depending on the time of day. A congress venue can, for example, provide special messages relevant to conferences planned throughout the day. A restaurant or hotel manager can, in the same way, make different information available at breakfast, lunch or dinner time, in order to provide a better service.
